The Els Center of Excellence

The Els Center of Excellence, is a world-class facility hosting leading-edge programs and services.  Based in Jupiter, Florida, The Center opened the first two buildings of its 26-acre campus in August 2015 and is on track to be a game-changing resource in the field of autism and a leading example of  what can be available to individuals on the spectrum.  Having all the essential components on one campus, is not only a game-changer for the local autism community, but makes the facility the perfect hub for a variety of global outreach activities. This ensures The Els Center of Excellence’s positive influence is felt far beyond the boundaries of its walls. Once the campus is completed, the impact will be magnified!

  • Currently completed: Lower School (The Learning Center), Auditorium Building, two Playgrounds, and Golf Practice Facility
  • 2017 completion:
    • Upper School (The Learning Academy) will open on August 14th for the 2017-18 school year in the new Shanken Education Wing
    • The Sensory Arts Garden and Pavilion will open on September 25th with a Grand Opening celebration for invited guests
  • Future completion dates: Cafeteria, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool and Pavilion, Play Courts, Athletic Field, Adult Services Building and Medical & Research Services Facility

Autism Charter Schools

The Learning Center at The Els Center of Excellence is a nonprofit, Palm Beach County public charter school, serving children with autism spectrum disorder, ages 3-14. The Learning Center is now in its eighteenth year as a charter school, sharing this distinction with only one other existing charter school in Palm Beach County. Currently serving over 100 students, the school’s curriculum is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and provides quality special education programs that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The goal for every student is to maximize their potential using evidence based practices.

 

The Learning Academy at The Els Center of Excellence, Shanken Education Wing, is a non-profit, Palm Beach County public charter high school serving students with autism spectrum disorder, ages 14-21. The Learning Academy’s mission is “Preparation for Life After School”. To achieve this mission our school helps individuals with autism spectrum disorder in the areas of academics, vocational, functional life skills, social and communication skills.

Take A Tour

The Els for Autism Foundation offers tours of The Els Center of Excellence on the third Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in taking a tour of hte Center, please choose a date in the list below to register.

Tours will be led by Els for Autism staff members and will include a brief presentation in the Auditorium building followed by a tour of the Lower School building. All visitors will be required to provide identification at check-in.

FAQS

The Els Center of Excellence is a project of the Els for Autism Foundation. The Foundation is a public charity, recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations in support of the Center should be made out to the Els for Autism Foundation.
