Employer Training Series (Parts 1 – 5)

This five-part Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Employer Training Series includes an overview of ASD, training on recruiting qualified candidates with ASD, best practices on hiring and onboarding qualified candidates with ASD, keys to successful supports and accommodations in the workforce for employees with ASD, and detailed information on the positive impact of hiring employees with ASD.  Visual and case examples of adults with ASD working across industries are included throughout the training series.   All information embedded within the modules is rooted in evidenced-based practices for ASD.  Titles of trainings within this five-part series include:

Employer Training Series: Part 1 – What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?

1. Learn how ASD is diagnosed and treated

2. Understand the strengths and challenges of individuals with ASD

3. Identify at least three evidence-based practices for individuals with ASD

Employer Training Series: Part 2 – Recruiting Qualified Candidates with Autism Spectrum Disorder

1. Analyze current workforce and recruitment partners

2. Identify non-profit organizations that work directly with individuals with autism and their families

3. Develop a plan to partner with a supported employment agency

4. Describe ways to join national efforts on increasing employment opportunities for individuals with autism and related disabilities

Employer Training Series: Part 3 – Hiring and Onboarding Qualified Candidates with Autism Spectrum Disorder

1. Investigate reasonable accommodations for hiring and onboarding practices to include, but not limited to, the interview process and onboarding support.

Employer Training Series: Part 4 – Keys to Successful Support & Providing Accommodations

1. Learn about keys to success when supervising and supporting employees with autism spectrum disorder

2. Learn about evidenced based accommodations that support the needs of employees with autism while on the job

3. Learn about first hand success stories of companies currently employing and supporting individuals on the spectrum

Employer Training Series: Part 5 – Affecting Your Bottom Line, The Impact of Hiring Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

1. Learn about the financial impact of hiring employees with ASD

2. Learn about how to increase your company’s productivity and retention of staff

3. Learn how to enhance your company’s culture

As our team continues to change the culture of sports and recreation for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, we need your help! To expand our recreation offerings, we are fundraising to build a specialized autism-friendly recreation complex that will include a gymnasium, aquatic center, and splash pad. With these features, we will be able to offer a dedicated indoor space for activities during inclement weather and provide water safety and drowning prevention for our clients.
