Golf Therapy

The Ernie Els #GameON Autism™ Golf program is infused with evidence-based practices for teaching golf to people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Participants learn golf skills while practicing specific autism learning concepts, including communication, emotional regulation, motor, and social skills.

The goal of the program is for participants to achieve their individual golf successes, build confidence and self-esteem, in a fun, welcoming and supportive environment.

Online Training Course for the Ernie Els #GameON Autism Golf Program

Welcome to the Ernie Els #GameON Autism Golf Curriculum course.  The 5 online training modules included in the course will help teach the fundamentals of golf training for people with ASD. In addition to the didactic portion of the training program, we offer a virtual hands-on clinic video tutorial that is now available through seven brief sequential videos (total time is 11:30).

All training modules have been created in Adobe Connect. Adobe Connect content is best viewed in Internet Explorer and requires Adobe Flash.

Please note that completion of both the 5 core training modules and the virtual hands-on clinic video tutorials are required to become an Official Program Provider. This resource may be used for current providers to onboard new staff who will deliver the program on their site or as a refresher course for current staff at your site.

Click on the links below to get started on each training tool.

For the training curriculum course, you must view the entire module and pass a short quiz before proceeding onto the next module. For the virtual clinic, you must view each video in its entirety to unlock the next video for completion of the tutorial. Upon completion of the course and video tutorial, you will be granted access to all curriculum materials in the library. Please email Kimberly Watterson-Rivieccio  at kimberly.rivieccio@elsforautism.org to verify completion and receive a certificate.

*Please note: During the duration of the course, if you have already reviewed some of the content and you receive a “Review Mode” notification, this is not a cause for alarm.  You will still able to complete the course.
