Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the application of the principles of learning and behavior to bring about changes in behavior that are socially significant. For individuals diagnosed with autism, ABA strategies and techniques can lead to improvements in communication (i.e., verbal behavior), social relationships, adaptive and daily living skills, play skills, academic abilities, and employment tasks.

Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-Language Therapy evaluates and treats speech, language, and communication disorders. Speech-Language Intervention provides individuals with access to speech, language, and at times, augmentative and alternate means to communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings. The overall objective is to optimize an individual’s ability to understand and use language to communicate.
Speech-Language Therapy is available for individuals across the lifespan in a 1:1 or group format. Comprehensive Speech-Language and augmentative & alternative communication (ACC) evaluations are also available.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy supports and promotes an individual’s ability to participate in activities of daily living, including play, leisure, social interactions, and self-care. It also facilitates the development of fine motor skills, visual motor integration, bilateral coordination, motor planning, and sensory processing. Occupational Therapy is available in a 1:1 format across the lifespan for clients who are enrolled in at least one program at Els for Autism.
Mental Health Counseling Services
Mental health counseling services promote optimum mental, emotional, and social health and well-being of individuals with autism and their families. Counseling services are offered in person and via telehealth in both 1:1 and group formats.
RUBI (Research Units In Behavioral Intervention) Parent Training
Children with autism exhibit challenging behaviors that may impact learning and social interactions. The RUBI Autism Network parent training program teaches parents to use applied behavior analysis techniques to manage their child’s challenging behaviors and to teach new skills. Els for Autism is currently accepting families into the RUBI parent training program. As part of the program you will receive:
- 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis education sessions
- Development of a behavior support plan specific to your child’s needs
- Direct guidance and feedback regarding your child’s behaviors
The program is composed of 11 core sessions. Additional supplemental sessions may be added for specific challenging behaviors (e.g., feeding, sleeping and toileting).

FAST (Family Autism Supports & Treatment)
Els for Autism strives to provide leading examples of evidence-based interventions for individuals with autism. The FAST program delivers a range of mental health counseling services to autistic individuals and their families, addressing urgent community needs. Services encompass in-person and virtual individual/group counseling, an annual virtual sibling support group, ongoing care coordinator services, and on-demand access to stress management tips and mental health resources.
