Karley Kent, BA, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a major in Criminology and minors in Psychology and Sociology. Karley has worked in a variety of Human Service areas prior focusing on the field of Autism. Karley became passionate in this field while working at an elementary school as an Educational Assistant for children with various learning, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. Karley relocated from Canada to work for the Els for Autism Foundation as she believes the vision and mission are perfectly aligned with her career goals. She has completed courses and extended learning in ABA, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, counselling strategies, teaching strategies and Positive Behavior Support interventions.
At the Foundation, Karley works as an Employment Specialist/Job Coach assisting participants with important interview and employment skills, helping them search and obtain meaningful employment in the community, and creating supports to foster independence and maintain success in their new role.
