Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Els for Autism Foundation. Volunteers are an essential part of our program and your generous offer of support is greatly appreciated. Please take a few minutes to review the available volunteer positions below. If something fits both your availability and interest, we invite you to click the Volunteer Registration button below and begin the process.

Available Volunteer Positions

Musical Theater Pilot Program Volunteer
Time Commitment:  Thursdays, 4-5:30 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 2-4
  • Responsibilities: Assist drama instructions in supporting students during class instruction / Working directly with individuals with autism

After School Tennis Volunteer
Time Commitment:  Mondays & Wednesdays, 3-3:30 PM, 3:30-4 PM, 4-4:30 PM, 4;30-5 PM, and/or 5-5:30 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 5-10 (2 per time slot)
  • Responsibilities: Assist tennis instructors in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism.

After School Golf Volunteer
Time Commitment: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:30-3:15 PM, 3:15-4 PM, and/or 4:15-5 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 6-9 (3 per time slot)
  • Responsibilities: Assist golf instructors in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism.

After School Soccer Volunteer
Time Commitment: Fridays, 3:15-4 PM or 4:15-5 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 10-15
  • Responsibilities: Assist coaches with setup, stations, peer buddies, ball retrieving, and drill managing. Assist golf instructors in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism.

After School Dance Volunteer
Time Commitment: Tuesdays, 3:30-4:15 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 2-3
  • Responsibilities: Assist dance instructor in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism ages 6-17 years

Music Group Volunteer
Time Commitment: Wednesdays, 3-3:45 PM, 4-4:45 PM, 5-5:45 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 2 per group
  • Responsibilities: Assist music therapist in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism.

Special Adults Life Skills Academy (SALSA) Cooking & Fitness Class Volunteer
Time Commitment: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3-5 PM
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 2
  • Responsibilities: Assist class leader in managing, prompting, and modeling instruction for students with autism.

CONNECT Mentor Program (Adult Services Program)
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per month
Fall Dates To Come

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 4 FULL
  • Please email emily.grosso@elsforautism.org for more information and to be added to our mentor waitlist
  • Responsibilities:
    • Mentor will meet with mentee twice a month for one on one meetups.
    • Mentor will attend monthly educational trainings (online or in person) to increase their knowledge of how to empower individuals with ASD, learn  the value and impact on organizations that hire neuro diverse individuals, and best practices to support individuals in the workplace.
    • Mentor will be requested to attend a monthly community event with other mentors and mentees to increase social network and inclusion in the community.
  • Requirements:
    • Young professional (18 year or older) with 5 years of work experience
    • Able to commit to the full 10 months (September 2018 – June 2019)

Summer Camp Volunteer (FULL)
Time Commitment: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
July 1 – July 26, 2019

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 8
  • Responsibilities: Assist camp counselors with fitness, sports, music and art activities / Working directly with individuals with autism ages 6-22

Educational & Vocational Program Material Support Volunteer
Time Commitment: hours are flexible between 8 am – 4 pm

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 1-2
  • Responsibilities: Meet with team members to obtain materials, assemble materials related to clinical, vocational, and educational programs. Activities may include but are not limited to cutting, laminating, and printing program material.

Classroom Cleanup Volunteer
Time Commitment: days are flexible (no weekends), 12-2 PM
2 hours biweekly

  • Number of Volunteers Needed: 3
  • Responsibilities: sterilize toys, wipe down tables and chairs (in 3 classrooms)

The Learning Center Volunteer

  • Charter school on campus serving students ages 3-14
