The Rupert and Shanken Education Wings

The Learning Academy (TLA) at The Els Center of Excellence occupies the Rupert Education Wing and the Shanken Education Wing. TLA is a tuition-free, non-profit, Palm Beach County public charter school for students with autism ages 3 – 21. TLA’s mission is “Preparation for Life After School.” To achieve this mission, the school helps autistic individuals in academics, vocational, functional life, social, and communication skills.

The Shanken Education Wing houses TLA’s upper school (students ages 14-21), while the Rupert Education Wing houses TLA’s lower school (students ages 3-14). Also, inside the Rupert Education Wing, Els for Autism Early Intervention clients & therapists and TLA students & staff share multiple spaces including two playgrounds, a life skills lab, a sensory gym, and therapy, music, & art rooms.

Contact TLA, by visiting tlacad.org or calling 561-296-1776.

Help us build our specialized autism-friendly recreation complex

Founded by World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els, Els for Autism is transforming the culture of sports, specifically golf, for individuals with autism. Since a round of golf has 18 holes, we are sharing 18 ways we support autistic individuals through our recreation services. Help us reach our goal of raising $18,000 to support our capital campaign to build our specialized autism-friendly recreation complex.
