Birdie Buddies Golf Day is a collaboration between Els for Autism Foundation and The First Tee of the Palm Beaches. The program is for golfers ages 10 and up with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities of all abilities. Participants will spend the day with peer volunteers at The Els Center of Excellence practicing their golf skills, playing nine holes of golf, and having fun with friends. Els for Autism Foundation staff and coaches from The First Tee of the Palm Beaches will lead participants in a variety of activities that will focus on communication, social, and golf skills. The student to instructor ratio is 3:1. Individuals who need additional support to actively participate are welcome to attend with a caregiver or 1:1 companion. This program is open to individuals throughout the community. If you are not currently enrolled in programs or receive services offered by Els for Autism Foundation, you will need to complete the new client application before signing up for the event.Peer volunteers are required to complete the Els for Autism Foundation volunteer application to participate in the event.
